Dr. Marks received his M.D. and M.A. (physiology) degrees from the University of Texas and completed urology residency at UCLA.   After a lengthy career in private practice, he returned full-time to UCLA in 2009.   He is inaugural holder of the Dekernion Chair in Urology.   Dr. Marks is principal investigator of three RO1 grants from the NIH.   He leads a multi-disciplinary research collaborative involving urology, radiology, pathology, and bioengineering.   He is internationally known for his prostate cancer research in active surveillance, targeted biopsy, and focal therapy.
