Incontinence

Loss of bladder control ranging from mild leakage to complete loss of control.

Inability to hold urine in the bladder. May be a result of radiation therapy, surgical resection of the prostate, or other disease process.

Types include:

- Stress incontinence: Leakage during physical activity

- Urge incontinence: Sudden, intense need to urinate

- Mixed incontinence: Combination of both

Management strategies:

- Kegel exercises

- Pelvic floor therapy

- Bladder training

- Surgical options (artificial sphincter, male sling)
